SAINTS STARTING STRONG: LBWCC splits weekend series with Snead State

The LBWCC Saints (10-3) swept Snead State on Friday, but finished the four-game series with a split on Saturday in Andalusia.

GAME THREE

LBWCC 8,

SNEAD STATE 3

In the opening game on Saturday, the Saints used a five-run third inning to pick up an 8-3 victory.

The Saints loaded up the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third inning.

Jesse Hall gave the Saints a 2-0 lead when he ripped a single to single.

Trevor Shelton then delivered a big blow when he scorched a three-run home run over the fence in center field.

Walker Messer reached with a one-out walk in the bottom of the fourth inning  and then Ko Powell launched a home run to put the Saints on top 7-0.

In the top of the fifth inning, Snead State picked up a run.

The Saints picked up their final run of the game when Jackson Henderson drove in Chauncey Callier with a sacrifice fly.

Snead State got a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Saints.

Shelton led the way for the Saints at the plate going 2-for-2 with three RBIs and one run scored.

Powell and Hall each finished with two RBIs, and J. Henderson had one RBI.

Keegan Fairley picked up the win on the mound give up just two hits, no earned runs and eight strikeouts.

In the final game of the series, Snead State was finally able to get the best of the Saints will an 8-0 victory to avoid a four-game sweep.

Snead State picked up three runs in both the second and third innings to build an early lead.

Matthew Christian, Casey Henderson, J Henderson and Powell each had one hit for the Saints.
