The Andalusia Police Department is investigating Tuesday night assault in which a man was seriously injured.

According to a press release issued by the department Wednesday, APD officers responded to a call on West Watson Street Tuesday night and found a white male who had been assaulted. The man, whose name was not released, was seriously injured and was flown to a critical care facility. His condition was listed as serious but stable Wednesday morning, the APD said.

Investigators say the assault appeared to be an isolated incident between the victim and his assailant(s) and not a random act.

The incident is under investigation.
