A Florala man was charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia Thursday after a search warrant revealed 200 grams of methamphetamine and a smoking device on his property.

Agents with the 22nd Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force went to the home of Paul Ashley Cook, North 6th St., Florala, and secured a search warrant after receiving reports Cook was distributing large amounts of meth from the residence.

His bond was set at $515,000, and Cook is currently in custody of the Covington County Jail.

The Florala Police Department assisted the DTF.

Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said that this is all about officers working together toward a goal and seizing a large amount of methamphetamine that was headed to the streets of Florala.
