A sexual predator from Florida, who had been on the run since early June, was arrested Wednesday in Florala; however, his traveling partner, who is also a sexual predator, remains on the loose.

Rich-ard Hudson, 42, was on supervised released for a prior conviction of three counts of sexual battery by threat or force, when on June 7, he allegedly cut off his monitoring bracelet, stole his Defuniak Springs, Fla., employer’s truck and fled to Orange County, Fla., according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is wanted by the Florida State Parole Commission.

Working on information that Hudson had taken his employer’s 1993 Chevrolet Suburban and headed back to Defuniak Springs, the investigation led the task force to Florala; where just across the state line they found the stolen Suburban near a park at Lake Jackson.

Dominic Guadagnoli, USM public affairs officer, said Hudson was accompanied by Karen Roach, 45, who was wanted for violation of probation in Orange County, Fla.

Both were brought to the Covington County Jail and will be held there until extradited to Florida, he said.

He said after the two were arrested, it was discovered they had also been traveling with a third man who had also cut off his monitoring device and was wanted by Madison County, Fla., authorities.

“Hudson was also traveling with fugitive Michael Dean Depriest, who also cut off his monitoring device,” he said. “Depriest is a registered sexual predator as a result of his prior conviction for lewd and lascivious battery on a victim between 12-15 years of age

“The two men allegedly parted recently, and Depriest is still on the run,” he said.

He said the Pensacola Task Force is following leads; however, anyone with any information as to his whereabouts should contact local law enforcement.

Roach

Depriest, 49, is described as a 6-foot white male, with brown hair, blue eyes with a skinny build. He is known to shave his head, have facial hair and sometimes wears glasses. It is believed that he is still in the Walton County, Fla., area.
