The local man featured in Saturday’s paper for writing 19 bad check charges was arrested Sunday after he allegedly attempted to break into an Andal-usia home.

District Attorney investigator Max Smith said Michael Feagin, 46, was walking on Moore Road when he was spotted by Andalusia Police Department officer Brandon Avril.

“Apparently Officer Avril read about (Feagin) in The Star-News and recognized him from his photo,” Smith said. “Needless to say, Officer Avril and Officer Matt Wilson detained Mr. Feagin on numerous bad check warrants and two violation of probation warrants.”

Smith said in total, Feagin faces 35 counts of negotiating a worthless instrument.

Police are still investigating the break-in off Prestwood Bridge Road and Feagin’s alleged involvement, said APD investigator Paul Dean.

Feagin could face additional charges in the future, he said.

He is currently being held in the county jail without bond.
