Andalusia’s PeeWee Bulldogs utilized its balanced attack against Opp Saturday night, and walked away with a 33-6 victory over the Bobcats at Channel-Lee Stadium.

“Our young men won the game at the line of scrimmage,” Andalusia 11-to-12-year-old PeeWee coach Casey Jones said. “Opp has some big boys up front, but we were moving the line of scrimmage all night.”

The Bulldogs allowed two Opp first downs, and one touchdown during the game.

In the first quarter, Jamal Hourel rushed two yards for a score over center, and B.J. Anderson answered the score with an extra point giving Andalusia an early 7-0 lead.

Anderson ran 41 yards for the next touchdown and the extra point was no good.

Then, R.J. Drish forced a Bobcats turnover and Andalusia drove down the field 61 yards and scored on a two-yard rush by Hourel. The Bulldogs took a 20-0 lead after a Kendrick Brown extra point.

Andalusia’s defense held the Bobcats and tacked on one more touchdown before half time.

To conclude the first half, Anderson ran 94 yards on a toss play by quarterback Grant Holley for a score as time ran out.

The Bulldogs led 26-0 at half time.

Opp got on board in the fourth quarter on a 51-yard pass.

Andalusia scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter by Anderson, and Brown added the extra point to put the game away.

Hourel led the Bulldogs in tackles with six.

Andalusia will play host to Georgiana this Saturday night at the AHS stadium at 7.
