Manufacturers of a new statewide student information computer system now have 30 days to fix the reported glitches in the software, state board of education officials said Thursday.

The software has caused headaches for schools from Mobile to Huntsville.

Interim state Superintendent Larry Craven said he sent a memo to all superintendents of the more than 130 public school systems in the state, asking them to give feedback on the problems their systems were experiencing with the Information Now or I-NOW program, which is made by STI.

The software is supposed to serve as a centralized, web-based means for teachers, administrators and staff to access data on the classroom, school and district. Teachers also use the system to record students’ attendance, grades and schedules.
