Wyatt named plant manager

PowerSouth Energy Cooperative announced recently the promotion of David Wyatt within its power supply division.

Wyatt is the former operations superintendent of PowerSouth’s Central Generation in Gantt, and has been promoted to plant manager.

The Central Generation facility consists of the Maury A. McWilliams Steam Power Plant, the James A. Vann Jr. Power Plant and the Point A and Gantt Hydroelectric Power Plants.

“David has served as a real team player and is an effective leader,” said David Powell, PowerSouth director of power production. “He understands the issues and is respected by the employees. He has contributed immensely to the success of our Central Generation units, and we are looking forward to expanding his duties.”

A native of Andalusia, Wyatt joined PowerSouth in 1996, holding the position of plant results coordinator.

He was promoted to operations superintendent in 2000.
