Catfish, baseball on tap for governor’s visit
Gov. Robert Bentley will continue his Road to Economic Recovery Tour today with a series of stops in Andalusia in Covington County. During his visit to Andalusia, Gov. Bentley will also throw out the first pitch at the opening ceremony of the Babe Ruth World Series.
Thursday’s tour will begin with a lunchtime visit to David’s Catfish at noon. Gov. Bentley will then visit the Andalusia campus of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College at approximately 2 p.m. The visit to LBWCC will focus on the school’s workforce development programs and Gov. Bentley’s efforts to further strengthen workforce development across the state.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., the tour will continue with a visit to Henderson Sewing Machines. Henderson was one of eight companies that received a 2012 Governor’s Trade Excellence Award for success in exporting goods. Also, at 4:30 p.m., Gov. Bentley will conduct a round table discussion on economic development efforts with members of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce.
Before leaving Andalusia, the governor is scheduled to throw out the first pitch at 6 p.m. at the Babe Ruth World Series Tournament.
