Something to celebrate

0909-health-first-dialysis-patient

Last month, Andalusia Health began offering inpatient dialysis. John Gurley, shown, became the first patient to receive inpatient dialysis. AH presented him with a small gift and balloons to celebrate him as the first inpatient dialysis patient.

Gurley had been traveling out of town to receive his treatment but because AH now offers inpatient dialysis, he was able to receive his treatments locally. He is the father of AHS football standout Antonio Gurley, and said he was most excited that he was able to receive his treatment and be out of the hospital in time to make his son’s game Friday night. Mr. Gurley actually had two reasons to celebrate – he was the first dialysis patient and the Bulldogs posted a big win.
