Daphne takes top honors at A-Town Invitational

AHS band leaders prepare to hand out trophies at the end of the 2015 A-Town Invitations.

 

Daphne High School’s band earned overall grand champion honors, after its drum major, color guard, percussion and band earned best in class honors in the 2015 A-Town Invitational Saturday.

Twenty-five bands competed in the 10th annual competition, and Andalusia’s Sound Tradition performed in exhibition.

Drum major best in class honors went to: Escambia, Fla. (5A), Daphne (4A), W.S. Neal (3A), Opp (2A), and Florala (1A).

Majorette best in class awards went to: Escambia, Fla. (5A), Wetumpka (4A), W.S. Neal (3A), Opp (2A), and Florala (1A).

Color Guard best in class went to Escambia, Fla. (5A), Daphne (4A), W.S. Neal (3A), Opp (2A), and Kinston (1A).

Dance line best in class went to: Escambia, Fla. (5A), None (4A), Elba (3A), Straughn (2A), and Kinston (1A).

Percussion best in class went to: Escambia, Fla. (5A), Daphne (4A), Rehobeth (3A), Jay, Fla. (2A), and Red Level (1A).

Band best in class awards went to: Escambia, Fla. (5A), Daphne (4A), Rehobeth (3A), Jay, Fla. (2A), and Kinston (1A).
