Thrash vacates BOE seat
Opp Mayor Becky Bracke will now have to appoint someone to fill the District 1 board of education seat.
Tuesday, Opp City Schools Superintendent Michael Smithart notified board members that Alan Thrash, who has been the representative for three years, has moved and was no longer eligible to serve in the capacity.
Thrash won the election in 2014.
He was first appointed by former Opp Mayor John Bartholomew to replace Robert Young.
