Alabama Southern tops Saints

Alabama Southern scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning, and walked away with an 8-3 conference win over the Saints Friday at Crum Foshee Field in Andalusia.

LBWCC trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, and cut ASCC’s lead by one with an RBI single from sophomore pinch hitter Austin Mason.

ASCC got the game started with three runs in the first inning.

The Eagles scored their eight runs on 14 hits in the win.

The Saints scored one run each in the fourth, seventh and eighth innings.

Aaron Haag, of Andalusia, was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for LBWCC.

The Saints will close their 2011 season at home against Bishop State on Sunday.

The first pitch will be thrown at 2 p.m.
