Tim Sims signed his letter of commitment to play football at Holmes Community College on Wednesday afternoon.

Sims, a senior at Red Level, said getting the chance to play ball at the next level is a “dream come true.”

“It’s all paid off in the end,” Sims said.

Sims will be attending a school that has a rich tradition of producing a lot of Division 1 talent, RLS coach Tony Ingram said.

Auburn assistant coach and special teams coordinator Scott Fountain hails from HCC.

Sims said the plan for him is to play a year or two at the community college, which is located right outside of Jackson, Miss., in Goodman, and then transition to another college.

Sims is one of eight players to sign with HCC from out of state.

Last Wednesday, HCC coaches came to be a part of the signing ceremony, but school was canceled because of the weather.

The coaches weren’t at yesterday’s ceremony, but Ingram said their willingness to show up last week having driven all the way from Goodman, shows how much they are interested in Sims playing for the Bulldogs.
