The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles made short work of the Baker Lady Gators dominating them 50-22 on day one of the Alabama/Florida Shootout Friday night in Pleasant Home.

It didn’t take the Lady Eagles long to put up a commanding lead. After the first period, the Lady Eagles held a 20-2 lead. Jade Self was on fire from the floor with 8 points. It seemed like every time the Lady Gators crossed half-court that Self was there to swipe the ball and take it the other direction for an easy 2 points.  River Baldwin was a dominant force down low grabbing everything that came off the glass, and usually putting it back in for 2 points. Baldwin had 6 points in the first period.

The second period went pretty much like the first one did. Self continued to steal the ball from Lady Gators’ players, and turning those steals into points. Cassidy Godwin started to heat up from the floor in the second, and finished the period with 8 points. Self also pitched in another 8 points for the Lady Eagles.

The Lady Eagles didn’t need to do much offensively the remainder of the game. Most of the starters were removed midway through the third period. After three periods, the Lady Eagles led 50-17. Baldwin added 6 more points to her night’s total.

The Lady Eagles didn’t score in the fourth period, but they didn’t need to. The final score was 50-22 in favor of the Lady Eagles.

Self and Baldwin finished with 16 points each, and Godwin came in with a solid 14 points.
