Eagles start season with a victory

The Pleasant Home Eagles started off the baseball season with a 6-4 victory over the Rocky Bayou Knights Thursday night in Niceville, Fla.

Rocky Bayou got on the board first with a 2-run single in the bottom of the second inning.

The Eagles answered back with one run in the top of the third inning when Josh Ruth picked up an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Knights added two more runs to take a 4-1 lead.

Pleasant Home responded with two runs in the top of the fifth inning to make it a one-run game.

Mason Kelley and Aaron Warthen each drove in a run for the Eagles in the top of the fifth.

Josh Hawkins tied the game up with a single in top off the sixth inning and then Jonathan Cooley stole home for the go-ahead run.

Jacob Walker picked up the win on the mound of the Eagles and struck out four batters in the process.
