It was a first for three Andalusia players Friday night at Straughn’s baseball tournament as Andalusia’s Zack Ward, Robert Woodall and Nate Mack all had a good night at the plate for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs defeated Elba 11-1 with the help of a grand slam home run by Ward in the bottom of the third inning.
In Andalusia’s second game, Woodall hit a three-run home run and Mack hit a grand slam home run in their team’s 13-0 win over Dale County.
“I think everybody in the line up had a hit, so it was a pretty good night,” Andalusia coach Jonathan Rasberry said.
Andalusia’s C.P. Rogers earned the win on the mound in the first game and Zack Ward earned the win on the mound in the second game.
Andalusia will play the winner of the Straughn-Red Level game at noon on Saturday at Straughn High School.
Complete coverage of Andalusia’s first game against Elba will be in the Sat., March 20 edition of the Star-News.
