The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs defeated Florala Monday night on the road, 7-4.
Florala coach Roger Hammonds said his team fought hard throughout the game.
“Throughout the season we’ve been playing well the first few innings with great ball clubs and falling apart after a few errors,” he said. “(Monday night), we made a few errors and fought until the end. There were some things that happened that we had control over and some things that we didn’t have control over.
“But we’ll keep working on those things we have control over and strive to get better,” he said.
Florala’s Katie Cassady, Kelsey Bradley and Michaela May all scored for their team in the fifth inning.
The Losing pitcher was Ashley Christian.
“It was a great game for our team regardless of the score,” Hammonds said. “We played a great 4A school — a ranked 4A school at that.”
On Thursday night, the Lady Wildcats senior players will be recognized on senior night, immediately following the junior varsity game.
In junior varsity action, the Lady Wildcats fell 10-9.
Lindsey Hammac and Bailey Rickett scored in the first inning; Kendyll McDaniel, Rickett and Brooke Hammonds scored in the second inning; Kaitlyn Geohagan and Keadra Avan scored in the third; and Keerie Kimbril and Lyndsee Edwards scored in the fourth.
