The Red Level Lady Tigers earned their first win of the season Monday night with a 3-1 victory over Luverne at the RLHS gymnasium.

“It feels good because you know you can do it,” RLHS coach Gail Lee said about getting that first win. “They didn’t do it the other day against Pleasant Home. They should have.”

Red Level won against Luverne 25-20, 25-23, 27-29, 25-11.

The Lady Tigers just came off a 3-0 loss to PHS last Thursday night. It was their opening match of the season.

Lee said the main difference between the two matches is that the team played together.

“Their serving was good,” she said. “They looked good. I always tell them they look good when they play together.”

In other volleyball action Monday night, the Lady Eagles fell to T.R. Miller in three games 11-25, 21-25, 13-25.

“We just kind of drug through it,” PHS coach Jerry Davis said. “We didn’t appear to be up for the match, and they’re pretty good.

“If you don’t play, then that’s what’s going to happen against good teams,” he said. “We were just kind of dragging all day.”
