Red Level posts homecoming win

Red Level romped Calhoun 35-0 for an exciting homecoming win.

The Tigers took the lead halfway into the first quarter when Dillon Conner scored on a seven-yard run. The PAT was no good and Red Level was up 6-0.

The Tigers extended the lead with 7:34 in the second when Raheem Bullock took a hand-off 43 yards for the TD. The two-point conversion was good, and Red Level was up 14-0.

After holding Calhoun to three and out, Red Level took over again and scored at 3:42 in second on a 6-yard pass from Preston Ryce to James Feagin. The two-point conversion was good, and the Tigers took a 22-point lead to the dressing room at the half.

The Tigers scored on a big defensive play in the third when O.J. McGee intercepted a Calhoun pass and made a 45-yard dash to the goal line. The point-after was good, and the Tigers were up 29-0 with 7:12 left in the third.

Red Level scored again with 2:15 left in the game when Kevin James took it in from 6 yards out. The PAT was no good, and the scoring ended at 35-0.

Offensive stats

The Tigers rushed 39 times for 138 yards and completed two of four passes for 41 yards, or 179 total yards.

Calhoun rushed 30 times for 71 yards, completed two of 20 for seven yards, 78 total yards.

Dillon was the leading rusher, with 10 runs for 58 yards and a touchdown. Bulluck rushed 10 times for 45 yards and a TD.

On the defensive side, McGee had two solo tackles, a quarterback sack and an interception return for a touchdown.

With the win, Red Level’s record improves to 2-2 and 2-1 in regional play. They host the McKenzie Tigers next Friday night.
