SHS seniors lead Tigers past Brantley

Straughn’s nine seniors showed their leadership in the Tigers’ 10-4 victory over Brantley Tuesday on senior night.
The Tigers improved to 24-6 overall, and the seniors raked in seven RBIs and eight runs for Straughn.
Zach Lunsford, a senior, led Straughn going 2-for-2 with a double, a single, two RBIs and one run; and senior Andrew Burleson was 2-for-3 with a double, a single and an RBI.
Seniors Josh Dewrell, Luke Fussell and Cody Hughes were 1-for-3 each behind the plate.
On the mound, Dewrell got the win for the Tigers. He struck out six, allowed no runs on two hits in 4.2 innings.
SHS senior Nick Allen allowed no runs on one hit, struck out two in one inning.
Allen was 0-for-3 with two runs; senior Zack Stinson was 0-for-2 with a sac fly, one run and one RBI; Drew Jones was 0-for-2; and Jacob Ganous scored one run for Straughn.
Zack Turvin was 1-for-4 with one single, one run and one RBI; and Keith Edgar scored one run.
