Straughn boys, girls still No. 1, No. 6

Straughn’s baseball team stayed at the top spot in Class 4A, as the Alabama Sports Writers Association released its poll today.
The Tigers improved to 24-6 after a 10-4 defeat over Class 1A’s Brantley on senior night Tuesday.
Straughn finished as the No. 1 seed in its area, and will host the first round of the state playoffs next Fri., April 22.
In the girls poll, Straughn stayed put at No. 6.
The Lady Tigers fell to Ariton 5-1 Monday night, and beat Class 1A’s third-ranked Kinston Tuesday night 6-2.
