Police are investigating a shooting that occurred behind the Andalusia Ashley Furniture at approximately 7:42 this morning.

The shooting occurred in a vehicle and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Officers and k-9 units are searching for a person of interest,who is identified as Raoul Del Torro, 49. The Covington County Incident Response Team has assembled and searched a Baisden Street residence where the suspect is believed to live.

Residents of the downtown area are asked to stay indoors and off the streets until further notice.

The victim, an unidentified female, was transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital.
