LBWCC Saints Chris Barrentine and Josh McIntosh recently received academic awards from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Barrentine of Newton, and McIntosh of Altha, Fla., both earned the Award for Superior Academic Achievement, which recognizes athletes for maintaining a grade point average of 3.8-3.99 on a 4.0 scale, according to a press release.
“We congratulate both of these young men,” Saints head baseball coach Steve Helms said in the release. “Their achievements in the classroom are proof of the hard work and dedication they put into their education.”
Barrentine is transferring to Auburn University-Montgomery, where he will play baseball and pursue a degree in engineering.
McIntosh is transferring to Florida State University in the fall.
