PHS sweeps Kinston, homecoming is Friday

Pleasant Home’s boys and girls teams earned a sweep over Kinston on Tuesday night.

The varsity boys won 49-27 in the night cap; the varsity girls won 43-22; and B-team claimed a 34-29 victory.

Lance Davis led the boys with 16 points; Kaleb Powell had 12 points; and Josh O’Neal had 11 points.

Raven Woods led the girls with 20 points, and Taylor Godwin chipped in eight points.

Like the varsity boys, the varsity girls improve to 2-1 in Class 1A, Area 2, and will play host to Geneva County for their homecoming game on Friday.

Homecoming activities will begin in the auditorium at 10:30 a.m. with an assembly including a video in recognition of the classes of 1942, 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992 and 2002.

The homecoming court will also be presented.

Basketball games will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity girls. Geneva County doesn’t have a B-team.
