Pleasant Home softball coach Bradley Stephens was breathing a little easier on Monday night.

The Lady Eagles beat Brantley 9-5 in a second-game decider to win the regular season area title at BHS.

Brantley beat Pleasant Home 6-4 in the first game to force the deciding game.

Pleasant Home’s Raven Woods hit a two-run home run with a tie ball game in the second game to give the Lady Eagles a 4-2 lead.

Brantley tied the game back up in the sixth, but the Lady Eagles came out swinging in the seventh inning, Stephens said.

“We just started hitting the ball,” he said. “It feels pretty good.”

Emily Byrd pitched both games, receiving the loss in the first game and the win in the second game.

With this victory, the Lady Eagles will host the Class 1A, Area 3 tournament, which will be held during the first week of May.
