The Florala Public Library has received five new computers thanks to the state’s broadband initiative.

The project has placed nearly 900 computers in libraries across the state. Florala’s computers were delivered on March 29, provided by the Auburn University Center for Governmental Services and funded with federal funds from Broadband USA.

“This grant comes at a crucial time for us,” said FPL Director Judy Petrey. “More people are using our library every day and wait in line for the computers.”

The library is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., closed from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. for lunch.
