Pleasant Home wins Class 1A South Regional

GULF SHORES — Pleasant Home scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Lady Eagles beat Kinston 4-0 to win the Class 1A South Regional Softball Tournament this afternoon.
Behind tournament most valuable player Emily Byrd, the Lady Eagles allowed only two runs during the entire tournament. The two runs allowed came late Friday night in Pleasant Home’s 9-2 victory over KHS in the winner’s semifinals.
With this victory, the Lady Eagles enter next week’s state tournament at Lagoon Park in Montgomery as the top seed from the South.
PHS will play the North Central Regional runner up at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
