Lyndsey L. Lankford has qualified for Gantt town council place 4.
Lankford and her husband, Eddy, have been residents of Gantt for the last three years.
Lankford said, if elected, she would bring a “young-er perspective” to the town council.
“I feel that it’s important for young-er generations to do their part in building their community,” she said. “As the mother of two, and with another on the way, I want to work to create a community that they can be proud to call home.”
Lankford said she will have an open-door policy for Gantt residents.
“I believe that residents deserve a prompt response to inquiries and requests for assistance made to council members,” she said. “If a neighborhood has concerns, citizens should be able to reach their council member, who should be an advocate for his or her constituents.”
Lankford said she would also like to see improvements made to the city’s infrastructure.
“We should place a higher priority on our wastewater and water systems,” she said. “We need to take better care of our streets by repairing or replacing them before they completely deteriorate.”
