The Covington Arts Council & Act I will present a mystery dinner theatre, “Murdered by the Mob,” Fri. and Sat., Aug. 10 and 11, at 6:30 p.m. and Sun., Aug. 12, at 12:30.

Covington Arts Council executive director Paula Harr said this is the first time the two groups have produced a dinner production. The play lends itself to a dinner theatre, she said, adding that there will be a feel of a 1920s speak-easy.

“We’d love it if people came dressed as a gangster or a flapper,” she said.

“It’s a fundraiser,” Harr said. “We’ve always wanted to do a dinner theater. It’s going to be fun, something different for Andalusia that we haven’t had before.”

Actors include Lauri Coturie, Fran Davidson, Jennifer Jones, Derek Stump, Ralph Ricks, Dan West, Eric Lidh, Johnny Brewer and Parrish King. June Simpson and Lori Couturie are directing.

Admission is $25, and includes a homemade dinner of salad, manicotti, garlic bread, dessert and drinks.

Tickets can be purchased through Wed., Aug. 8, at Harold’s, Ansley Place & Brooks Hardware.
