The Opp Board of Education wrapped up its hiring for the new school year, which will begin on Aug. 20.

The board voted to:

• employ Zachary Banks, as Access facilitator at Opp High School;

• Lisa Woodrick, as after-school program director for RACE-TRAC.

• Lynn Weide, as part-time music aide at Opp Elementary School.

Additionally, this was the first board meeting for newly appointed Dr. Walter Burgess, who replaced Jennifer Ferguson, who resigned.
