The victim in Thursday night’s homicide in Sanford has been identified, and two “persons of interest” are being questioned this morning, said Sheriff Dennis Meeks.

Donnie Earl Bone, 48, of Greenville, was found dead in a field shortly before 8 p.m. last night in Sanford.

“First, we want people to know that we believe this was something between two people,” Meeks said. “Residents should not be alarmed.”

Meeks said no arrests have been made as of yet; however, two men are being called “persons of interest” and are currently being interviewed.
