Red Level’s KJ Lawrence scored 29 points and added 10 rebounds to help lead the Tigers to a 55-44 area victory over Georgiana Tuesday night.
The Tigers led throughout the contest — 8-4 after the first period, 18-11 at halftime and 39-21 after the third period.
“I was proud of how hard the boys played,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said. “We’ve got to make sure toward the end of the game we handle the ball and finish the game.”
Catrett said despite a slow start, the boys were patient and took what the Panthers gave them.
“They played real smart the first three quarters,” he said. “These boys give it their all.”
Spencer Stallworth laced in 15 points and nine rebounds. Justin Maddox chipped in six points and Dee Tolbert had five points in the effort.
In B-team action, Georgiana won 41-36.
Jeffrey Purdue led with 14 points and Dede Scott had 10 points.
In girls action, Georgiana came out on top, 53-35.
The Lady Panthers led 15-4 after the first period, 19-11 at halftime and 37-24 at the end of the third period.
