Dandelion Boutique aims to ‘dazzle’

When you look good, you feel good – or so that’s the philosophy for Dazzling Dandelion Boutique owner Lisa Ammons Teachnor.
After all, as a nurse practioner at Enterprise Medical Center, the Andalusia business owner knows something about that. A self-proclaimed “girlie girl,” Teachnor said a love of clothes led to her newest business venture, working part-time in the boutique.
This is not Teachnor’s first run in the business worlds. She and her husband, Todd, are also owners of Trim-tastic Tree Service in Opp.
Teachnor said she plans to practice in Enterprise and has hired fulltime help for the store; however, when the opportunity presented itself to own her own business, she jumped at it.
“I love clothes,” Teachnor said. “It sounds silly, but I love jewelry, accessories, shoes – you name it. It has always been my dream to own a boutique.”
Inside the store, one will find an array of sizes and styles, Teachnor said. There is also a wide selection of purses, shoes and jewelry items.
“I wanted a store that caters to all women of all shape and sizes and styles,” she said, adding that Andalusia doesn’t have a stand alone boutique of this kind.
“In here, you’ll find things that are for not only for teens and 20-somethings, but women who are in their 40s and 50s,” she said.
Teachnor purchases the bulk of her selection at market in Atlanta.
“I’m not one who is concerned with brand names,” she said. “As long as it’s cute and stylish, that’s what I’m looking for. I choose items, not based on brands, but on their style.”
Located in the former Floral Splendors building across from Winn-Dixie, the shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
