One person is dead and five others injured in afternoon car crashes Friday.

Andalusia Police are reporting that the fatality and two injuries occurred after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection at the Covington Mall and the By-Pass just after 1:30 p.m. At least one of the injured is suffering life-threatening injuries.

Another three people were moderately injured in a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 29 North and Dunns Bridge Road just after 12:30 p.m. They were transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital for treatment.
