Straughn, PHS Split

The Straughn Tigers and the Pleasant Home Eagles squared off Thursday night for three games of junior varsity basketball. The Tigers won the seventh grade boys’ and the junior varsity girls’ games, but the Eagles prevailed in the junior varsity boys game.

 

The Tigers seventh grade boys beat Pleasant Home 29-18. Noah Fallin led the Tigers with 12 points and Brendan Douglas led the Eagles with 15.

 

In junior varsity girls action the Lady Tigers downed the Lady Eagles 21-13. Aubrey Spears and Sadie Crum paced the Lady Tigers with 4 points each. Hope Gunter led the Lady Eagles with 5 points. Bailey Spivey also added a bucket for the Lady Eagles.

 

The Eagles junior varsity boys outlasted the Tigers in overtime for a 29-27 win. Marvin Fantroy led the Eagles with 16 points. The win brings the Eagles record to 4-2.
