Quick start allowed the Pleasant Home Lady Eagles to coast to a 47-12 victory over the Excel Lady Panthers last night in Pleasant Home.

The Lady Eagles came out firing on all cylinders, and started the game with an 11-0 run. After the first period the Lady Eagles held a 13-2 lead. River Baldwin and Jade Self both finished the first period with 4 points. In the second period, the Lady Eagles jumped out to a commanding 30-7 lead. Self continued to catch fire from the field, dropping in 7 points for the Lady Eagles. Baldwin knocked down three buckets, for 6 points, in the period.

By the end of the third, it was all but over. The Lady Eagles added another 17 points to the board, and lead 47-9 heading into the fourth period. Self tacked on an additional 7 points to her night’s total, and Baldwin added 6 more.

The Lady Eagles, with such a tremendous lead, were able to coast through the fourth period. The Lady Eagles sealed up a 47-12 victory when the buzzer sounded.

The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Self with 18 points, and Baldwin finished with 16 points.

“We played pretty well tonight, but we still have to do a better job of protecting the ball,” Lady Eagles head coach Jerry Davis said. “Up to this point we are improving, and if it doesn’t come down to depth we are a good basketball team. The younger girls are getting a chance to play and learn. It’s always good to win a Friday night game, otherwise, it can make for a miserable weekend.”
