The Georgiana Lady Panthers proved to be too much for the Red Level Lady Tigers defeating them 58-46 in the final round of the Red Level Christmas tournament on Monday.

There wasn’t much scoring in the first period, but the Lady Panthers led 13-8 after one. Kayla Hinson and Hannah Colvin made the most of their scoring opportunities with 4 points each for the Lady Tigers. Zandrea Johnson paced the Lady Panthers with 8 points.

The Lady Panthers extended their lead in the second period 30-21, and got a big 3-pointer from Tahja Herbert. Colvin added another 4 points for the Lady Tigers, but they just couldn’t slow the talented Lady Panthers scoring attack.

In the third period, the Lady Panthers really started pouring it on thanks to Tyanna Perkins who found fire from downtown. Perkins hit four 3-pointers in the third to give the Lady Panthers a 49-35 lead heading into the final period. Hinson put the Lady Tigers on her back scoring 10 points in the third, but despite the effort they were unable to cut into the Lady Panthers lead.

The Lady Tigers kept on fighting, but the Lady Panthers were hitting nearly every shot they threw up. Hinson added 5 more points to her night’s total, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lady Panthers lead. Johnson had 4 points in the final period for the Lady Panthers to give them a 58-46 win.

Perkins led the Lady Panthers with 23 points, and Johnson accounted for 12 points.
