The Red Level Tigers gave it their all, but fell to the Brantley Bulldogs 59-44 Monday in the final round of the Red Level Christmas tournament.

 

The Tigers and Bulldogs both came out strong, but it was the Bulldogs who took a 14-10 lead in the first. Keisaun Nichols sparked the Bulldogs with 7 points. Devin Dexter led the Tigers with 5 points, and Hunter Carpenter had long-range 3-pointer.

 

In the second, it was neck and neck, and the Bulldogs took a 27-24 lead into halftime. Malcolm Burnett had pair of 3-pointers, including a buzzer beater to give the Bulldogs the lead. Carpenter was feeling it from downtown nailing four 3-pointers in the second period.

 

Something sparked the Bulldogs after halftime, and they jumped out to a 45-31 lead in the third. The Bulldogs put the speedy Darian Jones on Carpenter in the third, and didn’t give him single open opportunity to shoot the ball in the period. Dexter paced the Tigers with 3 points. The Bulldogs got 7 points from Nichols, and Brandon Frazier had 6 points.

 

In the fourth, the Tigers and Bulldogs slugged it out till the final buzzer, and the Bulldogs walked away with a 59-44 victory. Carpenter was still being manned up by Jones, but he was able to find a little shooting room hitting a pair of 3-pointers in the final period. Nichols had 5 points for the Bulldogs in the fourth.

 

Carpenter finished the night with 21 points on seven 3-pointers to lead the Tigers. Dexter finished with a solid 11 points.

 

Nichols led the Bulldogs with 21 points, and Burnett totaled 11 points.
