Red Level sweeps Mckenzie in first area contest

The Red Level Tigers swept the McKenzie Tigers Tuesday night in the first area games of the season.

 

Red Level’s B-team got the night started off with a 28-18 victory over McKenzie.  Red Level trailed 10-2 at the end of the first period, and they were down 13-6 at halftime. Red Level turned it up after halftime, and shut out McKenzie in the third period. Red Level led 21-13 heading into the final period. Red Level continued their strong second half effort to defeat McKenzie 28-18.

 

The Red Level Lady Tigers were the second game of the evening, and they demolished the McKenzie 51-12. Red Level got off to an explosive start, and held a 15-5 lead at the end of the first. By halftime, Red Level had increased that lead to 27-10. Red Level’s defense played lights out in the third period, and didn’t allow McKenzie a single point. Red Level had a comfortable 44-10 led going into the final period. Shelby Holley led Red Level with 17 points. Kayla Hinson finished with 12, and Natalie Feagin had 11 points.

 

In the final game of the evening, the Red Level varsity Tigers defeated McKenzie 43-29. The game was close for the most of the game, and was tied 12-12 at the end of the first period. At halftime, Red Level held a 19-15 lead. Red Level stretched that lead out to 32-23 heading into the final frame. Devon Dextor and Ontaryo Nearer led Red Level with 12 points each. Jeffery Perdue finished the night with 11 points.

 

Red Level will travel to J.F. Shields Fri., Jan. 9th,  for their second area contest of the season.
