Red Level’s season-opener didn’t go as planned as they fell 32-20 to Cottonwood Friday night in Red Level.

“There were just too many mistakes from our guys tonight,” Red Level head coach James Wise said. “We turned the ball too many times and didn’t line up right most of the night.”

Red Level got a pair of first half touchdowns from John Lee and one score from Colten Dorman.

At halftime, the game was tied 20-20, but Cottonwood put two touchdowns on the board in the second half to win the game.

“We just couldn’t put anything together,” Wise said. “It was one of those nights were everything went against us.”

Wise said that he was proud the hustle he saw from a few players.

“There were a few players that played hard all night, and I’m proud of them for that,” Wise said. “It wasn’t the whole team, though. For some reason, we are still playing with separate agendas, and that is going to have to change. Tonight just wasn’t a good game, and I can’t really put my finger on it right now.”

Red Level hits the road next week for a region match against Houston Academy.
