In addition to delivering snacks to emergency personnel this week, Andalusia Elementary School fourth graders wrote thank-you notes to first responders.

A sampling of their thoughts follow.

Dear police officer,

My name is Wynter Grace Raines. Thank you for helping our community and stopping bad things from happening. Thank you for protecting our school and helping us. We thank you for your hard work and saving us. Thank you for protection with care.

Wynter

Dear police officer,

Thank you for being a friend. Traveled down the road and back again. Thank you for keeping us safe. Where would the bad people be if we did not have you?

Sara Brundidge

Dear Police Officer,

Thank you for helping Andalusia for being safe. I like police. I want to be just like y’all and me and my brother play cops and robbers. It was fun. I pray for god to please take care of y’all. Thank you for taking care of Andalusia, Alabama.

Love Grayson.

P.S. Hope you like the crackers

PPS. I am 10.

Dear officer,

Thank you so much for everything you have done. You save lives you do the impossible you are there when people need you. You are incredible and you are like a super hero. You get guns and Tazers. I bet that is cool. You are amazing. You are loving. You take care of us. You respect us and I just want to say tank you. And you watch over us and I bet it is not easy nothing is easy when it comes to saving the world and thank you.

Sincerely,

Hudson Kelley

Dear Hero,

I would like to say thank you for keeping us safe. When I was little I always wanted to be a firegirl or police girl. And thank you for fighting and taking risks for us.
