Red Level hammers down on Kinston

The Red Level Tigers hammered their way past Class 1A, Region 2 opponent Kinston with a 61-14 victory Friday night in Red Level.

“I thought that we really played well tonight,” Red Level head coach James Wise said. “Tonight, felt like we were finally able to put together all aspects of the game. That’s something we have been working on, but tonight it looked like it all started to come together.”

Red Level took a lead early in the game, but Kinston battle back to make it 8-6.

Red Level never let up and started to pile the points onto the scoreboard.

“Our coaches came in with a good game plan tonight,” Wise said. “It was a just an outstanding performance from top to bottom.”

Matt Coleman had huge game for the Tigers as he returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown and also returned a fumble to the end zone.

Colten Dorman added a 70-yard kick return touchdown to help lead the Tigers to victory.

John Lee had another big night on the ground, as the senior rushed for 215 yards and a touchdown.

Cale Mancill added 93 yards and one touchdown through the air.

“It was just a good clean game,” Wise said. “There weren’t any injuries or any personal flags. It was good game and we are just happy to come away with the win.”
