Ready to start a streak

0907-spt-PHS-MHS2After a tough stretch of games against top-notch regional teams, the Pleasant Home Eagles (1-3) look to right the ship on Friday night when they travel to McIntosh (1-3) for a non-region match up.

“I don’t know much about them other than they are athletic,” Pleasant Home head coach Chris Mason said. “They are going to come into the game just as hungry for a win as we are.”

Mason said that the Eagles have a chance to win, but early execution will be the key.

“I think it is going to come down to who gets off to the best start,” Mason said. “If we can go out and execute early, we can beat them. The past two weeks we have scored first, but we have let big plays or penalties change our mentality. We can’t just ride the wave and then go down with tide. We have to keep our foot on the throttle.”

Mason said the Eagles will be healthy for the first time since week one.

“For the first time in three weeks, we are going to be 100 percent healthy,” Mason said. “The season begins anew on Friday night,” Mason said. “This could be the game that begins our streak. With the games left on our schedule we can get to 6-4, and that would show huge growth from this team.”
