The Red Level Tigers fell in tough rivalry contest last Friday night, but the Tigers look to bounce back as they travel to Ariton on Friday for the final game of the year.

“We have to start playing with aggression,” Red Level head coach James Wise said. “It was the same thing against Pleasant Home, we don’t start with any since of urgency or intensity.”

Red Level fell behind Pleasant Home early in the opening quarter on Friday night, but the Tigers roared back to take a late lead before Pleasant Home score in the final seconds to pick up 45-40 win.

“We wait around on someone else to make a play,” Wise said. “The intensity doesn’t get there until it looks like we are about to get embarrassed, and then all of the sound it’s like a switch turns on. I’ve got to figure out a way to get that switch on.”

Despite last week’s loss to Pleasant Home, Red Level senior running back John Lee picked up 384 yards rushing.

On the season, Lee has 2,048 yards and 24 touchdowns on 153 carries. Lee has also returned a punt and an interception for a touchdown.

“We are going to have to figure out a way to flip that switch on early in the game,” Wise said. “We’ve been waiting on John to make something happen, but John only has one game left at Red Level. He won’t be here to pull us out anymore.”

On Friday Lee and the Tigers will take an Ariton team that lost 28-17 last week to Samson.

Kickoff between Red Level and Ariton will be at 7 p.m., in Ariton.
