Red Level wins nail-bitter

The Red Level Tigers fought back in the final minutes of the game to defeat the McKenzie Tigers 59-55 Thursday night in McKenzie.

McKenzie came out in the opening period and grabbed a 12-10.

In the second period, both teams continued to play solid, but it was McKenzie who held a 25-21 lead at halftime.

Things started turning the corner for Red Level in the third period, as big buckets from Chance Russell helped them tie the contest 41-41 heading in the final frame.

McKenzie grabbed the lead back to start the fourth period, and held on to it until under a minute to go.

With 18 seconds left on the clock, Russell fired up a 3-pointer and missed, but was in the act of shooting.

With ice in his veins, Russell knocked home all three free throws to put Red Level up by 57-55.

McKenzie drove down the floor and got a decent look at the basket, but the jumper missed its mark and Russell secure the rebound and was immediately fouled.

Russell connected on both free throws to give Red Level a 59-55 lead with six seconds left.

Russell finished with 22 points to led the way for Red Level.
