Eagles bring out the brooms

The Pleasant Home Eagles took their brooms to Highland Home as they swept the Flying Squadron on Monday night.

GIRLS

PLEASANT HOME 68, HIGHLAND HOME 11

In the opening varsity match, the No. 6-ranked Pleasant Home Lady Eagles were rolling out of the gate and easily held off the Lady Flying Squadron for 68-11 victory.

The Lady Eagles got a big game from River Baldwin, who finished the evening with 28 points.

Hope Gunter added 11 points in the Lady Eagles’ victory.

Camille Holley and Bella Worley each finished  the game with 6 points for the Lady Eagles.

BOYS

PLEASANT HOME 66, HIGHLAND HOME 61

The No. 6-ranked Pleasant Home Eagles’ varsity boys’ team picked their ninth straight victory after fending off the Flying Squadron for a 66-61 win on Monday night.

Tyler Myrick got off to strong start with 8 points in the opening period to kick start the Eagles.

Aaron Warthen came on big in the second period with 8 points for the Eagles.

Nic Woods tacked on 4 points to put the Eagles on top 35-20 heading into halftime.

In the third period, Robert Scott got things going with a 3-pointer and also went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Scott continued his strong efforts from the free-throw line as he hit 4-for-4 in the finale frame.

Scott led the way for the Eagles with 16 points in the victory, including going a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.

Myrick finished the night with 12 points in the Eagle victory.
