River Baldwin named All-County Player of the Year

Pleasant Home’s sophomore sensation River Baldwin had a huge year for the Lady Eagles and has been the Star-News All-County Girls Player of the Year.

Baldwin led the Lady Eagles to the South Regionals and a 24-5 record during the 2016-17 season.

The sophomore recently committed to Florida State University, and was named to the ASWA first-team Class 1A All-State roster.

This season, Baldwin totaled 833 points for the Lady Eagles for an average of 28.7 per game. Baldwin was a 72 percent shooter from the floor and 65 percent from the free-throw line.

She also led the Lady Eagles 355 rebounds and 150 blocks in 29 games.

In just more than three years as a starter for the Pleasant Home Lady Eagles, Baldwin has scored 1,833 points.

Baldwin has averaged 22.3 points per games since becoming a full-time started during her sophomore season.

She also averages a little more than 10 rebounds per game to give her a career double-double average.
