Chief: Boyfriend shot girlfriend in leg with shotgun
Florala Police are searching for a Coffee County man who allegedly shot his long-time girl friend with a shotgun Friday morning.
FPD Chief Sonny Bedsole said that around 9:45 a.m., Friday morning, officers received a call that a female had been shot on 7th Avenue.
“Upon arrival officers found a lady trying to crawl out of the house with a gun shot wound to her right leg,” he said.
Bedsole said they would not release the name of the victim, but that she is 41 years old.
“She told us her boyfriend of four years go mad at her and told her he was going to kill her,” he said. “He shot her with a shotgun in the leg. Thankfully, it was birdshot. She’s in serious, but non-life threatening condition.”
Bedsole said they are searching for Alex Daniels, 38, of Enterprise.
“He left on a bluish, gray 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, four door car,” Bedsole said.
The tag number is 5512AH6.
Bedsole said Daniels is still on the loose and they have reason to believe he is in the Coffee County area.
He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
Bedsole said Daniels is facing domestic violence first degree charges.
Anyone who comes in contact with Daniels is asked to call 911.
