Red Level looks for strong performance

The Red Level Tigers are eager to begin the season on Friday night when they hit the road to take on Class 2A Cottonwood.

“We looked at last week’s game film against Straughn and were able to identify some mistakes we made,” Red Level head coach Kenny Skipper said. “At this point, I’m sure most teams are dealing with that issue. We just want to correct those mistakes. We aren’t going to change much, but just work on getting better at the things we do.”

Skipper said that Cottonwood has talent, but his Tigers will be able to compete.

“They do a lot on offense,” Skipper said. “They have a few athletes that we have to be aware of where they are on the field at all times. This is going to be a little more evenly matched game, at least from a depth perspective.”

When the Tigers are offense, Skipper said they will continue to run the same plays.

“Our offense isn’t really going to change week to week,” Skipper said. “We will add a few wrinkles from time to time, but we are an option offense and we are just going to take what the defense gives us.”

Red Level and Cottonwood will kickoff Friday at 7 p.m., in Cottonwood.
